Blue is the face of BowWow Café, gourmet pet food in Cape Town.

He’s also our snow white husky and wolf cross – and we’ve had him since he was a 6 week old puppy in Jan 2011.

A friend of ours asked if we could take him, after being told that a dog of his size would not be allowed in his apartment.

The minute we saw him, we fell in love! He was a little white ball of fur bulleting all over the place, excited and good natured.

You’d think that Blue became famous through our gourmet pet food in Cape Town – but the truth is, he’s always received lots of attention from people, their kids, and their dogs.

Blue loves to be the centre of attention, and he always has been – because of his gorgeous white fur, incredible personality and piercing blue eyes.

Kids even wrote poems and drew pictures of Blue. We knew naturally, that Blue was meant to be the ambassador for BowWow Café gourmet pet food in Cape Town.

He touches the lives of everyone he meets, and was the inspiration behind the gourmet recipes.

Blue is a very active dog, and is happiest when on his early morning run each day. We take him out very early, to shield him from the sun in the afternoon – which can get very uncomfortable for dogs with heavy winter coats.

He also loves to play and get up to mischief with his friends in the park. After that, he spends his time hanging out with his little sister and Tobie – his favourite pastime.

Blue is a big dog with a bigger heart, who deserves nutritious dog treats and natural dog food to keep him going. We’ve spoken to many dog owners who feel the same about their pets.

When Blue entered our lives, everything changed. It had too! You can’t invite such a special animal into your house and heart without adjusting your life to suit theirs.

Every winter we had a fireplace that burned non-stop – that had to go. We had to install aircons in every room to keep him comfortable in the hot months.

Every day began with a long, early morning run to give him exercise, and to drain him of some of his boundless energy. But it was all worth it!

He is one of the best things to ever happen to us.

He’s a family member, a loved one and a blessing. We can’t imagine our lives, or business without him!
